Pay Per Click or PPC Marketing accounts for billions of dollars a year according to leading financial publications. It is considered one of the most cost effective of all the ways for targeted website traffic.

The way that PPC marketing works is that the search in question will create a listing and rate that listing based on bid amounts that webmasters will pay to get higher ranking for a keyword or keyword phrase. Whoever bids the highest for a certain keyword or phrase will have their site ranked first and on down the line for the second and third highest bidders until all bidders are listed.

The advertiser then pays sites when someone clicks on their ad and hopefully makes a purchase. Unlike affiliate marketing the site owner gets paid for the click and it doesn’t matter if a customer buys or not.
Of course if you are trying to increase web site traffic by bidding on keywords on you don’t want ads put on just any site. You want your ads on sites within your niche. The same goes for the person displaying your ad. If the ad doesn’t relate to their niche no one will click on the ads and they won’t get their PPC commission. That is what the search engine is responsible for and why they make a profit.

If PPC marketing seems like something you’d like to look into for increasing traffic and profit I suggest that you check out the following information from Brad Callen the PPC Web Spy A New Generation of Market Research. It shows what everyone is bidding on keywords or phrases and lets you decide whether you want to compete for that word. Just Click on the Link Below

Sometimes the free website traffic methods explained earlier don’t work and you must resort to other ways of increasing web site traffic. One of the cheapest ways to do this is through traffic exchanges. These are similar to exchanging links but slightly different too. Normally in traffic exchanges you visit sites and earn credits for visiting those sites and also you gain credits by someone visiting your site. You then exchange those credits for more traffic.

Traffic exchanges don’t only get you increased web traffic but targeted website traffic which hopefully leads to more sales. When using a traffic exchange you set up an account and then begin viewing ads for different websites. There is usually some type of time limit so people don’t spend hours clicking on sites. All credits you earn by clicking on the ads give you credit towards advertising on the site. Once you’ve built up enough credits then you are allowed to place your own advertisement on the site.

It is suggested that you work on your advertisement so it will be attractive and give people a reason to click on it. Offering freebies or gifts is one way suggested to get them to click and increase traffic to your website. You also have to realize that many of the people clicking may not be interested in what you are offering but are clicking for the same reason you are, to increase their credits.

My suggestion is for you to check out the traffic exchange sites listed below and see if this is something you’d like to do to increase your web site traffic.

Internet marketing guys have been using social bookmarking as a way to increase web site traffic and page rank for awhile now. It is getting more popular everyday as IM is building up to a total saturation point. There probably isn’t a cheaper way (FREE) for increasing web site traffic than social bookmarking.

Social bookmarking at its inception and still today is promoted as a way to save your favorite internet material such as websites, blog posts, and videos in a way that you can conveniently access them at anytime much like the favorites folder in your browser. The only difference is that when you bookmark an item on these sites it is public and anyone can see them.

Social Bookmarking benefits the IM people by providing a way that they can create backlinks to their own sites simply by bookmarking their own content. When they bookmark their own content they are creating a one way backlink directly to their site, blog, or video. Some social sites have caught on to this and are making their sites NoFollow sites which basically kills the backlink. Not all social bookmarking sites have done this so if you plan on using this strategy to add backlinks for increased web traffic just be sure to research the site.

If you are interested in learning more about social bookmarking The Underground Training Lab has some great tutorials and videos about the subject. Also, they have a great plugin that will make the procedure less time consuming. Just click on the following link  Social Bookmarking Tutorial

Backlinks are one of the most important elements for a webmaster. They are not only essential in improving your page rank but they also increase your web site traffic. A third thing backlinks do are make you a recognizable expert in the blogging world. Unless you are a celebrity or something backlinks especially one-way links are hard to come by. Even harder is getting backlinks from high page rank (PR) websites.

One of the best ways to get backlinks from high PR websites are through commenting on their sites. Make sure the comment is relevant and will be accepted by the moderator. If you are spamming through comments you are wasting your time. And if the blogs you are commenting on are not in your niche you are again wasting your time.

To find high PR sites in your niche simply do a search on any of the search engines by entering “your keyword + blog”. Check the site and see if they accept comments as many will not. Good blogs are ones that make you register before commenting. Don’t worry so much about the nofollow /dofollow part of this as in 2 out of 3 of the search engines it doesn’t matter and it is iffy on the third.

I hope you have learned something about commenting and getting backlinks from high PR sites by reading this post. Of course after getting the backlinks you should see increased website traffic.
