Internet marketing guys have been using social bookmarking as a way to increase web site traffic and page rank for awhile now. It is getting more popular everyday as IM is building up to a total saturation point. There probably isn’t a cheaper way (FREE) for increasing web site traffic than social bookmarking.

Social bookmarking at its inception and still today is promoted as a way to save your favorite internet material such as websites, blog posts, and videos in a way that you can conveniently access them at anytime much like the favorites folder in your browser. The only difference is that when you bookmark an item on these sites it is public and anyone can see them.

Social Bookmarking benefits the IM people by providing a way that they can create backlinks to their own sites simply by bookmarking their own content. When they bookmark their own content they are creating a one way backlink directly to their site, blog, or video. Some social sites have caught on to this and are making their sites NoFollow sites which basically kills the backlink. Not all social bookmarking sites have done this so if you plan on using this strategy to add backlinks for increased web traffic just be sure to research the site.

If you are interested in learning more about social bookmarking The Underground Training Lab has some great tutorials and videos about the subject. Also, they have a great plugin that will make the procedure less time consuming. Just click on the following link  Social Bookmarking Tutorial

As I have stated before on this blog one of the biggest struggles in internet marketing is increasing web site traffic. When getting started, internet marketers face so much information on this subject and much of it is wrong and only worked pre-Web 2.0. If you can learn to master the new ways to generate web traffic you are on your way to success. There are a few simple strategies that when followed will increase traffic to your website.

Social Media Marketing is not only fun but an easy way to get you free web site traffic if it is done right. Twitter and Facebook would have to be the top two sites you should use to begin your traffic getting strategy. Although there are many others, developing a strong presence in these two will begin your rise to the top. You should avoid spamming your connections in any sites but you should share information that is helpful and adds value to the reader’s lives.

Video marketing is extremely effective in driving traffic to my website and it can be for yours also. Whether you are using someone’s video to sell their product as an affiliate, or you are making your own, video gives people a graphic view of what you are saying. It’s a fact that people will click and watch a video before they would read an article. For this reason Google holds more value with a video and it will rank faster and higher than other forms of content.

Lastly, article marketing is one of the best ways to generate web traffic. Writing good articles and linking back to your website not only increases your targeted website traffic but also makes you a subject matter expert on whatever you are writing about. This in turn leads to people checking your site more often to see what you are saying.

These three strategies alone if mastered will have you far ahead of many of the newbies as well as the veterans out there. When I am trying to increase website traffic I follow a step by step check off list from Jeff Johnson’s underground training lab I obtained from his site CLICK HERE. It is free and has been a great help in me obtaining the success I have gotten in my IM career.

A few months ago on one of my favorite blogs Dosh Dosh, Maki wrote an article entitled: Twitter Marketing: Why You Don’t Need to Mass Follow Users. This article was released right after Twitter announced that all Twitter users would only be allowed to follow a maximum of 1000 people a day. They added this rule basically to stop follow spam which is the act of following many twitter users in a short period of time. Normally this is done under the assumption that if you have more Twitter users more people will see what you are offering and your sales will increase and you will get increased web site traffic.

In the article the author talks about the flaws in this thinking and brings up a few good points such as the issue of low quality followers vs. targeted high quality followers (my words not his). Although he sees how mass following can help he is under the belief as I am that well targeted followers who are interested in you and what you are putting out will just about always work out better. There are some times when the mass following may work, but I believe as I think the author of this article does, that you should be working on getting contacts that are not just following or auto-following you to bring up the numbers. Anyway, before I go much further I’ll just have you go to the original article and check it out. Click Here

Another place to check out ideas and opinions like this is an expert on the subject Perry Belcher. He offers a free cheat sheet called the Social Media Matrix which explains this concept very well CLICK HERE  to download his free cheat sheet.

Social bookmarking is a part of the web 2.0 that everyone is talking about lately. You can use social bookmarking to grab free traffic from the search engines by creating incoming links. These incoming links multiply the possible number of results that your website will have in the search engines. Most of them are free thus creating free traffic to your website.

In the latest free Underground Training Lab report there are 29 social bookmarking sites listed that one post can show up in. That equals 29 unique results in the search engines. So now instead of that page or blog post ranking once in the top ten it could actually rank 29 times. This way of increasing web site traffic is totally legal and the search engines love it.

Just hop on over to the page listed below and get the free social bookmarking information so you can quickly and easily use this step by step tutorial to dominate the search engines.
